Erste Tourdaten von Slipknot - "Merry Fucking Christmas“ von Frontman Taylor.
Alle die genug haben vom ewigen "Last-Christmas"- und "Jingel Bells"-Gedudel werden Slipknot- und Stone Sour- Sänger Corey Taylor danken: der nutzte einen freien Tourtag im vergangenen Monat um mal eben, um eine augenzwinkernde Hass-Odie auf Weihnachten aufzunehmen. Am 14. Dezember wird sein Anti-Feiertags-Song offiziell veröffentlicht, das fetzige Video dazu gibt's vorab schon auf Youtube.
Gute Neuigkeiten gibt es auch für Fans von Slipknot: Nach dem tragischen Tod ihres Bassisten Paul Gray, der am 24. Mai dieses Jahres an einem Drogencocktail verstarb, war das weitere Bestehen der Nu-Metal-Band ungewiss. Am dritten Dezember bestätigten die Maskenträger aus den UK nun ihren Auftritt als Headliner auf dem Sonisphere Festival, das vom 8. bis 10. Juli 2011 im britischen Knebworth stattfinden wird. Ob es Slipknot auch auf Festivals im deutschsprachigen Raum schaffen, gaben sie bis dato nicht bekannt und die brodelnden Gerüchte um ein neues Album der Metal-Legenden zerstreute Frontman Taylor via "Twitter"-Meldung. Shows ja, Album derzeit nein.
"Wir freuen uns darauf, den Sommer in Europa zu verbringen. Bei dieser Tour geht es um uns und unsere Fans. Wir wollen das Leben und das Erbe unseres Bruders Paul würdigen. Das Tor ist weder offen noch geschlossen. In dieser Tour werden wir das Tor niederbrennen. Wir sehen euch diesen Sommer", so das offizielle Statement von Slipknot.
